13.11.2023 : Chickamangular -> Udipi

 13.11.23 : Chickmagalur

We stayed in homestay at Timber Leaf Homestay.  Individual two bedroom home with 4 beds each.  Weather over here was cold and cosy, to wake up to lovely warm blankets and hot coffee.

Chikmagalur is a hill station in Karnataka, a state in southwest India. To the north is Baba Budangiri, a mountain range in the Western Ghats, with 3 large caves said to be holy. Trails through forests and grasslands lead up to Mullayanagiri Peak. The cascading Hebbe Falls lie in an area of coffee plantations.

Full area is covered with tea and coffee plantation.  After late breakfast, we packed up and checked out and moved out in our bus to Udipi, travelling up and down the hill.

Kemmannu Hanging Bridge,

Located 7.5 kms from Delta Beach, the Kemmannu Hanging Bridge is a hidden tourist attraction in Udupi. Built originally to connect the two banks of the Swarna River, it has now become a location for a number of adventure sports.

Adrenaline junkies can try their hand at kayaking and river rafting at extremely affordable rates. Boating on the river gives visitors stunning views of the bridge and its scenic backdrop of coconut trees and wilderness. The journey to the bridge in the quaint setting will help connect with nature and enjoy the beauty of the greenery in the area

Across the Swarna river, people go across to see herds of elephants coming back from the forest to drink water.  They have now built a new glass bridge some further miles down, which has become a tourist sight, tickets Rs. 300/- to cross the bridge. On way we got to stop at Our Lady of Fatima Church at Perampally, Udipi.

Then we had lunch at restaurant and enjoyed lovely meal of fish fry and curry, also kori roti and chicken curry.

We reached our Golden Nature Villa, which was lovely place to stay but all meals we had to order or have it outside.  Here two more cousins turned up from Bangalore, Jayamani and Puspha.  After check in, we all drove off to Malpe beach, where we were up to our masti with our lighted twinkling bows on our head

From the beach we walked to Fishy Restaurant where we had lovely dinner with 9 cousins sisters from our father side and also one cousin brother with devil's horn from my mother side, who was our traveller coordinator for Mangalore.

After meals, we returned to our Villa, where we again sat up and talked and laughed away.
